Conservation Science Powered by Microsoft’s Planetary Computer

Overview

Microsoft’s new Planetary Computer is making vast amounts of near real-time spatial data available to the scientific community, and providing tools for deep, conservation-relevant analyses. CSP’s Analytics Lab leveraged these data and tools to better visualize three of our ecosystem monitoring projects, to help make the findings more intuitive and accessible. This initial set of dynamic mapping applications reflects collaborations with multiple partners to assess wildlife habitat connectivity on working landscapes, anthropogenic impacts to terrestrial landscapes, and changes in forest structure over time, each at a national scale.
